Rowan was a British freestyle skier, specialising in the halfpipe. In January 2014 she became the first British female skier to win a halfpipe competition on the FIS Freestyle World Cup when she won the Gold Medal in the halfpipe event at a meeting in Calgary.
"OYZ" dropped into Dougal Interviews today and will be Annie's 60 minute DJ's tomorrow at 12pm. On the Breakfast Show Ian described this great bunch of lads as chaps who are 'dedicated to sucking the morrow out of life'
This is their story, and what a story!
“We’re Outside Your Zone, often known as OYZ, and we are an adventure collective from Cumbria, England that is all about encouraging people to get outside of their comfort zone and find adventure. We stated a YouTube channel after Alex decided to film the adventures that we did, such as downhill long boarding, and it grew from there. We just want to encourage people to use the time that we have in this earth for good, and not waste it playing video games. That can be by finding adventure in whatever capacity you can manage, and we just want people to push themselves to find that next challenge. Our current challenge is sailing around the world, after we bought our first sailboat last year. We started off our sea adventures on little inflatable SIBs, and we have just been constantly trying to learn new skills and expand our horizons to the point where we can take on the ocean! “
It was great sadness that I learned towards the end of yesterday's breakfast show about the tragic car accident in Egypt overnight and that a fellow broadcaster, Tim Butler, Station Manager at Quay FM had lost his life.
The thoughts and sympathy of everyone at Riduna Radio go out to Tim's partner Jill, their family, freinds and everyone at Quay FM at this sad time

James Roberts collected a cheque today from our Technical Director, Brian Chambers for £500 on behalf of Alderney Cancer Relief, another benefactor of this year's Riduna Radio Advent Calendar Raffle and the generous people on Alderney
